Question

Asked by: Blaze
Subject: What happens when you have counter rotating gyro wheels?
Question: Ok, guys. I think I know the answer but I want to hear from the experts. Imagine your standard overhung gyro but instead of one wheel you have two wheels side by side. One wheel is spinning clockwise, one counter clockwise. I don't think this will precess. I think it should act as if it were a dead mass. So, what happens? Has anyone tried this?

 Hi Blaze,

Assuming identical mass, spin speed and diameter they act like dead weights.

Kind regards

Thanks Nitro. That is what I thought but I wanted some confirmation.
