Question

Asked by: Aaron Vee
Subject: Irresponsibility
Question: Does it never occur to you nutters what a disastrous effect your misconceptions might be having on young people? Parents rightly protect them from pornography, but most parents will not know what pollution you are pouring into unformed minds: they might even think that you are some sort of scientists - rather than closet-Mediaevalists. I think that you are all mentally challenged. Discuss.

 Hi Aaron,
Your observation is appropriate but the issue is a bit deeper.

The relevant perspective is as follows:
“The Illustrated Science and Invention Encyclopedia” published 1974, 76, 77 by H.S. Stuttman Co., Inc. with copyright to Marshall Cavendish Limited; volume 14 page 1877 states in print that Precession has “NO CENTRIFUGAL FORCE”, based on research presented by a then prominent British professor Eric Laithewaite (videos etcetera available this website).

Intelligentsia subsequently rejected the above Core claim but remained unable or unwilling to parse the problem so that it can be coherently presented (it is a sticky problem that involves multiple angular actions moving in multiple directions at varying rates, plus sundry variables).

The host and a number of individuals in this forum set out to prove or disprove the most interesting potential ramification from the above Core claim (i.e. whether linear propulsion is derivable from the necessary break in symmetry of angular forces and motions, if precession has no centrifuge).

Admittedly the search for Core facts became convoluted amidst pursuit for the more glamorous idea of gyro-propulsion (and the Core claim became a foregone conclusion to some).

The human condition being as it is, this forum finds itself investigating the fanciful to determine the validity of hard facts.
Relevant discussion should take place somewhere, in one manner or another; perhaps this has been as good a place as any other.

Regards,
Luis G
