There's a lot of math available, but it's not easy to understand.
I found another way to understand some of tbe gyroscopic effects...
Instead of thinking about the gyro as one piece,
TRY IMAGINING THE ROTOR OF A GYROSCOPE IS COMPRISED OF MARBLES!
Then you can begin to see the individual responses when an external force is applied.
All the parts of the gyro (which are going at different speeds) "feel" the effects differently.
This may not be accurate, but i can predict many of the resultant motions.
Try it and see if it works for you too.
