Subject: Gyros used in one of Tanks
Question: I wish to ask--- Why gyros used in a tank T-72 are called 3degree gyros(used as a angular sensor) and 2degree gyros(used as speed sensor)?

 I only guessing but can only assume the 3 degree gyros are used to sense the tanks pitch, roll and yaw. While the 2 degree gyros sense the position of the gun. The 3rd axis is not required on the gun because it will be the same as the tank (roll axis).

Can anybody confirm this to be the case?

 Gyro is a rotating mass.
